Ken Hodges believes in the broad support of law enforcement and that protecting the public interest cannot be accomplished by one agency alone.
As District Attorney, Hodges supported pay increases for public safety employees and advocated a Student Loan Forgiveness Program for Public Interest attorneys throughout the state.

The Georgia Legal Loan Forgiveness Task Force, headed by Dougherty County District Attorney Ken Hodges and composed of prosecutors, public defenders, legislators and law school professors, met for the first time to report its finding and recommendations to Governor Barnes. As Attorney General, Ken Hodges will continue to support Georgia’s public safety employees, whether it is a local police officer who puts his life on the line every day but still can’t meet his needs or a young defense attorney who struggles to pay back their school loans on a government salary.
