The Hodges Family

Life in Georgia is different in many ways. Ken Hodges grew up in Albany with his parents, Kenneth "Buddy" Hodges, Jr. and Margaret Hatcher Hodges, and his sister Marjorie Hodges Shaw. Ken spent summers exploring the woodlands and enjoying country life with his family.

As he grew up, he began to feel a sense of duty to provide the kind security for his community that he enjoyed growing up. It was on the job as District Attorney that he met his future wife, the former Melissa Kill.

Melissa grew up in Gwinnett County, and moved to Albany when she was offered a job as a news reporter with the FOX affiliate, shortly after taking a position with WALB-NBC as an evening news anchor and reporter. She loved the challenges of her career and quickly became one of the most well respected reporters in south Georgia, known for seeking out and reporting the truth with integrity and compassion. Out on the courthouse beat, she ran into Ken Hodges and never looked back.

Melissa and Ken have been married for five years. She regularly travels with Ken on the campaign trail across the state and is described as the "backbone" of the campaign.

Melissa and Ken had their first child, a daughter - Margaret Hodges. She brings her own talents to the campaign by providing inspiration for her parents as they try to make Georgia a safer place for all of Georgia's children.
